Sustainable San MateoTrue Market Solutions Business Development Director Miles Hoffman will be one of the judges for the 2015 Sustainable San Mateo County Awards. The Award winners will be announced in January and awards will be presented at a gala event on March 26, 2015 at the Bayview Dining Room at the College of San Mateo. Proceeds from the evening support SSMC’s general operating funds and programs.

Nominees from business, education, non-profit and government agencies, and individuals who have had a local impact within San Mateo County will be evaluated in the areas of environmental health, social equity, and economic prosperity. An astounding 28 nominations were received. Nominations for the award ended November 21.

The SSMC Awards voting committee consists of the active volunteer members of the awards committee (the group responsible for organizing the awards event), the members of the SSMC Board of Directors and Advisory Board, and invited community and sustainability experts.

“I’m very honored to sit with so many sustainability experts as we read through these nominations and vote on the awards,” said Miles Hoffman. “There are some amazing initiatives being undertaken in San Mateo County.  And what’s more amazing is the range of nominations – from businesses to educational institutions to individuals making a difference.  Sustainable San Mateo County has been a lightening rod for innovation amongst the community and I’m excited to be part of this year’s awards process.”
